The Friendship Run 5K and 10K both start and finish at McLane Elementary School in Olympia Washington: 200 Delphi Rd. SW; Olympia, WA 98502.


The Race Day Schedule is as follows:

  • 10K starts promptly at 8:55am
  • 5K strollers at 9:00
  • 5K runners and walkers at 9:05
  • The Kids Run begins at 10:15

Walkers are welcome and very encouraged to participate. Please start at the back of the crowd and always stay to the side leaving room for others to pass you.


Yes, properly loaded strollers are welcome on the 5K course! We even have a stroller division for those who wish to run while pushing jogging strollers. The running strollers will start before the other runners so be courteous and leave room for faster runners to overtake you. Walking strollers… you may encounter some of the faster 10K runners near the finish, please leave room for them to pass.


We love dogs! Please feel free to run with your well-behaved dog on a short leash. Please be courteous to other runners by starting toward the rear of the pack and be sure your pet and their leash are never in the way of other participants.

For insurance reasons we are required to have a completed registration form for every participant in all of the day’s events. You can register through the online registration or on the morning of the event.


You may register prior to race day online and in person on race day.


Online registration is available through Wednesday, March 22, 2017.  You can also register in person the morning of the Friendship Run.


You may switch to the other distance one time. Please contact our Registration Manager to request assistance.


Day-of registration will be available, however the fees will be higher than pre-registration.


We are not going to offer early packet pick-up this year. You may pick up your packet beginning at 7:30 on race day.


We are an organization run by volunteers. Thank you for your interest in helping! Contact our Race Volunteer Coordinator for more information.


Thank you very much! All proceeds from the Friendship Run go to the Westside Cooperative Preschool. You may donate by sending a check in the mail directly to the preschool at: PO Box 12659, Olympia, WA 98508. You may donate in person at the event (please find one of our cashiers selling shirts or registrations in the gym). You may donate via Network for Good. Or you can contact our Treasurer to arrange a donation.


The Friendship Run is hosted by the Westside Cooperative Preschool. WCP is a 501C-3 non-profit organization (EIN 91-1324538). Entry fees are not typically tax-deductible. Contact your tax accountant for more information about what portions may be deductible.


No. Entry deferments are not permitted.


No. Entries and race numbers are non-transferable from one person to another.


Yes! Both the 5K and 10K events are timed by a professional timing company.


Yes! We always have great prizes… they will be awarded to 1st and 2nd place male and female finishers in both the 5K and 10K events. Awards will also be given to the first place finisher for every age group in both the 5K and 10K. All kids participating in the Tot-Trot receive a gift. Every registrant in the 5K and 10K races will be entered into the raffle to win from a multitude of great prizes generously donated by local businesses and individuals.
